Overview
Volkswagen Canada and the Canadian Premier League (CPL) launched “VW Game Changers” a national campaign celebrating five remarkable individuals who are transforming their communities through soccer.
Beyond the Vision was brought on as the official video partner, working alongside Prestige XM and ROT$ Worldwide, who handled all logistics coordinating shoot days, selecting the Game Changer candidates, and making the multi-city project possible.
The Ask
Volkswagen and CPL needed a storytelling-driven campaign that would:
— Profile five community leaders creating real impact through soccer
— Capture their personal stories through interview-driven content
— Highlight the initiatives they created, led, or supported
— Deliver a surprise $5,000 donation moment from Volkswagen Canada
— Travel across the country to film each individual’s story authentically
— Produce custom videos that would play inside a VW Game Changers box
The tone needed to be emotional, cinematic, and deeply community-focused.
The Journey
Working closely with Prestige XM and ROT$ Worldwide, Beyond the Vision traveled across Canada to document all five Game Changers in their home environments: Yellowknife, Vancouver, Pickering, Oakville, Hamilton
Each production day included:
— A sit-down interview capturing their personal story, mission, and impact
— B-roll documenting their environment, community, and day-to-day involvement in soccer
— A coordinated surprise moment where a representative entered with a $5,000 cheque from Volkswagen Canada
— Genuine, emotional reactions that became the heart of each video
